Revenue Desk Review

Measure billing support without misleading targets

Use comparable work and quality checks.

The decision

A useful scorecard combines volume, turnaround time and accuracy. Define what counts as completed work before setting a target. A claim opened, a claim corrected and a claim accepted are different events.

What to compare

Segment the queue by task and complexity. Compare the same categories over time and keep a review sample. Record whether delays are caused by missing clinical documentation, payer responses, access problems or the assistant's work.

Before you commit

Use the first month to establish a baseline. Set improvement targets with the supervisor once training and access are stable. Claims per day alone cannot establish whether the engagement saves money or reduces rework.
